COMPANIES: A company requests membership information and submits the form on the "JOIN" page about their enterprise and debt problems for review. If we feel we can assist the company, we will forward an application along with more information. Once the company is a member, they may submit default files for inclusion in our data base. As we increase the transparency in doing business, we also increase the accountability for both parties to treat one another honestly and fairly. The company is invited to our learning center to educate themselves on how to be more proactive in business best practices, in order to avoid bad debts BEFORE they happen. A company representative is also invited to review our files to see if prospective clients are in our database so they can research any issues before agreeing to do business. The member company agrees to offer any former debtor, once the issue is resolved, proof so they can request removal from our database.
IMPORTANT: Frequently use of our Default Guard member logo on your website can be a deterrent to prospective customers with questionable motives!
DEBTORS: A debtor who has received a 30-day letter from a member company advising of potential inclusion in our database, has 30 days to resolve their debt with the company. If the debt is resolved, the matter is closed. If the debt is not resolved within the 30-day window, the company may include information about the debt in the database they submit. This information may include the name of debtor, city and state of residence and type of debt (failure to pay as agreed / chargeback / etc.)
FAITH-BASED PRACTICES: This is a viable alternative to taking someone to court, which is discouraged in some faith practices. Instead a Biblical solution is sought. The company should make every effort to collect any monies with at first a one to one contact, then among witnesses and church (if applicable or possible) prior to sending a 30-day letter. Usually the 30-day Default Guard letter from a member company will solve the situation and the debt is paid. If not, then the standard Default Guard procedures apply.
Matthew 18:15-17 (As taught by Jesus.) Amplified Bible (AMP)
"If your brother wrongs you, go and show him his fault, between you and him privately. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he pays no attention to them [refusing to listen and obey], tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector."
